The Management of Kwara State University, Malete, has notified students and the University Community that the Schools Hostel exemption fee remains N5000 only.
The FidelinfoNews gathered that students of the institution had earlier protested an alleged 300% increase in the exemption fee, which led to some level of disturbance on campus.
A statement by the School’s acting Registrar, Muhammed A. Shuaib read “This is to inform the entire University community that, today’s protest by students over the issue of payment of exemption fee for hostel accommodation has been brought under control.
Consequently, students and staff are expected to continue with academic activities and their normal duties.
“The hostel exemption fee remains at N5,000 only. Interested students who fall in the following categories: health/ physical challenges, married students/ pregnant/ nursing mothers are expected to apply to the Dean of Students’ Affairs for hostel exemption”.
